We are hiring energetic and friendly professionals to serve as a Retail Sales Associate and Sales Manager at our new Las Cruces store opening soon. The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for selling furniture, mattresses, and accessories through outstanding customer service in a fast-paced furniture Retail Sales environment. Sales experience is a plus, but NO SALES EXPERIENCE is necessary to apply!

Retail Sales Manager: Las Cruces

Household Furniture is opening a 65,000 sq ft super store in Las Cruces this year! We are hiring now and looking for an experienced Sales Manager that has a passion for providing world class customer service and team leadership. This role is responsible for creating an outstanding customer experience, while meeting targets and guidelines set forth by the company. The ideal candidate must possess good communication and organizational skills and work well with customers, department managers, other employees, and vendors.

The Sales Manager will work as the business unit team leader and will be responsible for achieving furniture sales growth targets through:

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leading, coaching & developing the store sales team

  • Maintain the appearance of showroom and proper merchandising to emphasize the selling points of our products such as design, quality and utility

  • Ensuring all walk-in customers are greeted promptly delivering "friendly and attentive service"

  • Assist customers with product selection and purchase using our selling and POS systems

  • Follow-through with customers' purchase, delivery and customer service requirements

  • Provide weekend, holiday and evening coverage when the greatest opportunity to generate sales exists

  • Maintain an active client book

  • Adherence to all policies, ensuring compliance by the sales team

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Showroom Key Holder, responsible for opening or closing the showroom.

  • Learn, implement, and train others in business practices and selling techniques related to increasing furniture retail sales

  • Provide leadership to ensure environment is friendly, positive, and professional at all times

  • Contribute to a positive selling environment and assist teammates whenever possible

  • Provide world class customer service by building quality relationships with customers and following up on all customer requests in a timely manner.

  • Maintain effective internal control over physical product flow and accounting of inventory within the showroom and the storeroom.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum 2 years of retail management experience (furniture is a plus)

  2. Excellent Spoken/Written English & Spanish

  3. Fully Computer Literate

The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for selling furniture, mattresses, and accessories through outstanding customer service in a fast-paced furniture Retail Sales environment. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist customers using the 5 Steps of Selling

  • Demonstrate and explain features and benefits of furniture

  • Accurately enter information in the point-of-sale system

  • Handle customer purchase paperwork and track orders

  • Communicate with customer after the sale

  • Communicate effectively with other employees

  • Help to maintain a clean, orderly working environment

  • Check shelves and merchandise displays as needed

  • Upsell additional products and accessories to enhance the customer's experience

  • Answer customer inquiries and provide information about products and services

  • Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and empathy

  • Assist customers using the 5 Steps of Selling

  • Other duties as assigned, essential or otherwise

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience in retail sales or customer service preferred, specifically in furniture or wireless/electronics sales

  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations

  • Basic computer skills

  • Bilingual proficiency is a plus

  • Strong sales and upselling skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling transactions and inventory

  • Must have a CAN-DO attitude

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language

  • Strong organizational skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Ability to work retail hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
